So it has been over a month since I’ve written a post and I just don’t know where the time has gone!
Is Christmas really 9 days away?????
Yes and yes. So here’s what’s up with us lately.
Payton turned 4 months and we attempted to do the Cry It Out method, but lasted one night. She screamed for an hour and 45 minutes before falling asleep and when she woke up an hour later we rocked her and held her until she fell back asleep. I just felt that she was not ready. So back she went in her pack and play right next to our bed!
Fast forward to Thanksgiving. Payton had regressed with her sleeping habits and was waking up almost every hour in search of her paci or a comforting hand to hold. To say we needed a vacation and some sleep was an understatement!! Thankfully we were headed to Hilton Head for a week with my family where Payton would sleep downstairs in my parents room and we would get a full nights sleep that week. It. Was. Amazing!
We headed to Clemson that weekend for the slaughter that will be known as the Carolina vs. Clemson game that Saturday (Go Cocks!) and boy did things keep going downhill from there. Payton woke up in the middle of the night and projectile vomited all over the bed. Panicking, we called the doctor and she said everything was ok. I wasn’t sold. Sunday began the diarrhea. We had 3 blowouts before finally making it home at 8am Monday morning. Then Tuesday, my husband caught the bug. Let’s just say, it was a rough couple of days for everyone in our household.
Fast forward to last weekend and we were flying to Charleston for a wedding. We dropped Payton off with my parents and headed on our 2 day drinking binge…I mean, vacation…the wedding was absolutely BEAUTIFUL and it was honestly one of the most fun weekends I’ve ever had! We flew home on Sunday and here we are…9 days away from Christmas!!
Can I just add that our 5 month old daughter has now been on 6 flights that have been 2 plus hours and she is a PRO at flying! We have found a trick that works for her and I’ll share it for all you moms out there! We either wait to feed her until the plane is about to take off or if we just fed her, we make sure she doesn’t fall asleep so she’s nice and tired for take off. Either way, my husband holds her and rocks her to sleep right as we’re taking off either with a bottle or a paci, and there we go! She sleeps the wholeeeee time. It’s amazing and we consider ourselves very lucky!!
So there’s my monthly catch up!
