Baby’s First Christmas

As we start to wrap up Christmas Day, I’m filled with a mix of emotions. The past couple of days have been filled with lazy hours in bed followed with parties  with new friends and family. I can’t help but feel an overwhelming amount of joy for the friends we have met in Houston over the past couple of months that have quickly become our “Houston family” (shout out to the Kennard family, I love y’all!). I am also very thankful that Andrew’s parents live 45 minutes down the road because I can see how happy it makes him every time we see his family and they do so much for us!

But it’s days like today that I miss being a little girl. I miss waking up my sisters and parents. I miss opening presents with our eyes half open because everyone but me is still half asleep. I miss spending the day doing nothing but eating and watching tv while laughing about stupid stories from the past…mostly about my terrible driving or lies we told our parents when we were younger.
I’m lucky enough to get to see my parents, aunts and uncles, cousins, and grandparents for New Years in Miami Beach (party in city where the heat is on 🍾). But there’s something about being with your family for Christmas Day that I truly miss, so hopefully we can all be together for the following years!
Thankfully, Payton wasn’t sure what was going on today but she sure loved being showered with presents. These are some of my favorites from the day and I’m happy to share them with y’all today!

Here’s to hoping all of y’all had a wonderful Christmas Day and got to create as many special memories as we did today.

Remember to appreciate every day with your family, whether it be a holiday or just a normal old day. I know going forward I will do just that and remember the reason for the season!
Thank y’all for reading!
